AZUR REAL HOTEL BOUTIQUE

Manufacturing base and financial hub, Córdoba has the youthful heart of a college town. Three historic universities line the city’s Jesuit Block, a gorgeous display of Latin American baroque architecture. Minutes away is a century-old townhouse that served as a drugstore, residence, and school before an extensive renovation transformed it into the Azur Real Hotel Boutique.

The lobby is a nod to the building’s evolution, with exposed brick and a stone fireplace presiding over an inviting modern daybed, hinting at the friendly hospitality within. Fourteen uncluttered guest rooms range from standard, where an elegant split-level design creates a cozy bedroom space complete with a flat-screen TV, to deluxe, where a chaise longue dominates a sitting room defined by dark wood and leather furniture.

Some guest rooms offer balconies, and while the outward-facing rooms offer views of the Jesuit Block, there’s something to be said for the reflective atmosphere of the rooms overlooking the quiet courtyard. The townhouse might be intimate, but ample common space — two restaurants and a top-floor wooden terrace — keep it from feeling cramped. Azur Real’s restaurant serves traditional Peruvian dishes with a Southeast Asian twist, while the Deli is the traditional mid-century tavern.
